our process

Start:

You approach CVWmedia with an idea or project request, or CVWmedia pitches an idea to you.

Hey, can you--
Yeah... we can do that.

If we’ve never worked together before, we’ll discuss budget, process, and turnaround time.

Long-term partners may not need this step: After a few projects, we can establish a client-specific rate card for you to easily price your projects AND know when they’ll be complete.

Once those details are set…

Collect:

A CVWmedia project manager will work with you to hash out the creative details of your project with questions like:

  • What message do you want to send?

  • Who is your intended audience?

  • What content do you want us to include, or should we create the project from scratch?

  • How will the project be displayed?

And then, on to the fun stuff…

Design:

CVWmedia provides a mock-up.

Depending on the type of project, this can be a concept image of a new character or scene, a couple of potential logo directions, a page or two of a print piece, a brief animation, or a portion of a video edit.

From here, we’ll work with you to hone the overall look and feel of the project before continuing. Don’t like the color palette? Want the graphics to move a bit faster? Feeling like the music isn’t what you had in mind? Now’s the time to figure it all out!

After you’re 100% happy with the direction the project is headed…

Complete + Revise:

CVWmedia will continue production using the design notes established during the concepting phase.

For video and animation projects, we’ll move forward with either a storyboard or the complete edit. For a project with a narrative, we may send a “rough” edit to make sure the video is telling your story properly.

For print and illustration projects, we’ll send updates incrementally: a few book pages at a time, a logo with updated color palette options, or whatever you’d like to see.

Together, we’ll figure out what production process you’re most comfortable with. Some prefer to see the whole thing and make one pass of changes at the end, while others want to do a few smaller rounds of feedback as the project progresses. It’s up to you!

Finish:

It’s done! Now what?

We can provide digital files (this is most common) for display in any number of places: YouTube, a presentation you run from your laptop, something you hand over to a hotel’s A/V team, an arena or stadium, or your parents’ living room. If you have an external A/V contact for an event, we’re happy to work with them directly to find out what they need.

If you need print materials or physical delivery media (USB flash drives, DVDs, and Blu-ray are common), we can provide those as well via our vendor partners. If you have a distributor you know you want to use, we can send you files to their specs as well!

Repeat:

See? Pretty simple! Now that we’ve gotten to know each other and successfully turned out some stellar work together, future projects will be even easier, so just let us know what we can do for you!
