play list: june 2018
Time for the third installment of play list! (I did not expect to be so impressed by everyone’s well-thought-out answers to the time machine question.) Enjoy!
You’ve been given access to a time machine. Where and when would you travel to?
Chase:
I would travel back to see the beginning of our species, and then travel forward to see it end, so that I would gain a sense of perspective on my life and not get so upset when my Wi-Fi goes down.
Jordan:
If I can only travel to the past and I had an unlimited supply of hygiene products and antibiotics, about early 1800s in America would be fine with me as long as I could be a part of the various expeditions that explored North America.
If I can travel into the future, about 500 years would be good. I assume by then space travel is common and exploring our universe is a possible endeavor.
Sarah:
I should say something like go back in time to see a cool event in history, but realistically I'd probably just go forward in time and get some winning lottery numbers!
Kevin:
I’ll stay here in Norman, 100 years into the future so I can see both technological progress (space travel, right?) and how my hometown has progressed. And I’m certain our office building will still be standing because it’s a fortress.
If you had your own late night talk show, who would you invite as your first guest?
Chase:
The ghost of Jim Henson.
Sarah:
I would invite my dog and ask him pressing and hard-hitting questions such as, "Who's a good boy?"
Becky:
Ellen DeGeneres. I’m having a hard time thinking of anyone more universally likable, and her career arc has been so unexpected.
Kevin:
Chuck D.
Micah:
I'd have to have to bring on Jeff Bridges… "The Dude". He's one of my favorite actors and seems like such a chill dude. It would be awesome to chat with him.
What is your most-used emoji?
Chase:
👤 or 😱, would prefer if there was an emoji that combined these two.
Jordan:
😉
Becky:
🤦♀️, “Face palm lady” might as well be my middle name.
Kevin:
Tie between 👍 and 🍻.
Olivia:
😻
What's your go-to karaoke song?
Becky:
“Killer Queen” or “Flashdance… What a Feeling,” but it’s probably time for me to bring something new to the table. Suggestions welcome.
Kevin:
“Rawhide,” in the key of A.
Micah:
I don't do a ton of karaoke. However, back in the day I did play my share of Rock Band. Back then, I was known for playing guitar while singing “Roxanne” by The Police.
Olivia:
I set myself up for failure by singing Beyoncé songs, but I always have a singing buddy so at least we go down together. Once in the middle of “Best Thing I Never Had,” our mics were turned way down…
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Chase:
I am an anti-morning person.
Sarah:
I'm a morning person! But to be honest I could probably sleep all day and night if I had the chance.
Kevin:
Most definitely a morning person. But when I do stay up late, I HATE THAT NIGHT GUY!
Micah:
Night owl for sure. I have a deal with my wife. I won't play video games while she is awake. She normally goes to bed pretty early, so that is my chance to get a few games in before bed.
