Oh heyyy! It’s been a (cough) minute since our last play list blog series, and since, like a lot of people, we’ve been working from home these past few months, we decided to do a quarantine edition play list to see what our coworkers’ lives have been like at home:

What's been your favorite food (cannot be bread) you've made in quarantine?

Becky:
I’ve made a LOT of lemon pound cakes. It’s a dessert you can pass off as breakfast, which is great because I have absolutely no regular eating schedule when I’m at home all day. I put blueberries in the last one. You know, for the antioxidants.

Morganne:
Baked salmon with a cream cheese topping. My mom and sister-in-law have made this dish a few times and it is de.lic.ious. It’s 1 filet of salmon, 1 block of cream cheese, ½ cup of “Slap Ya Mama” seasoning baked at 400° for 30-35 minutes. Enjoy. 😊

Jordan:
Waffles, at first. Never thought I would ever become tired of eating waffles.

What's been your favorite media (book/movie/TV show/music) you've consumed since quarantine?

Morganne:
I’ve actually been able to replay some of my favorite games: Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, to name a few.

Also, The Office.

Jordan:
I have read A LOT of books during this lockdown. It is hard to pick my favorite one. Some of the books I read were my favorite classics including The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Ender's Game, and The Mistborn Trilogy.

Micah:
The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary that chronicles the untold story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls' dynasty.

Olivia:
I second The Last Dance. Also Jenny Slate’s book Little Weirds spoke to me in a way that no book has in recent memory. I’ve since lent it to several girlfriends.

What's something you haven't missed during this time?

Kevin:
I don’t miss “hustle culture.” I don’t believe it should be what we’re referring to as normalcy, and I see no reason to return to an unreasonably frantic pace in either our personal or business lives. We should always strive to do our best in everything we do, but there is a distinct difference between doing more of something and doing something well.

Morganne:
Driving. A lot... I have a pretty decent-sized commute to work. The work is awesome so you could say the commute… matches the awesomeness… but in length… by miles,.

Micah:
Large crowds, I’ve never liked large crowds, lol.

Olivia:
Jeans… and shoes.

What's a small thing you have missed?

Kevin:
Easy and regular access to exercise. I’m not going to say I had been taking my regular lunchtime pickup basketball games for granted, but let’s just say I haven’t found a suitable substitute for burning hundreds of calories rapidly while playing a fun game.

Becky:
Eating in restaurants. I’ve gotten a little takeout here and there, but I have a very strong urge to eat tortellini someone else made, in the building where they made it, served to me by someone other than myself, that I pay a premium for.

Micah:
Live sports. Never realized how important they were to me until they didn’t exist anymore.

What's a quarantine trend that you hope continues?

Jordan:
I've been spending a lot of time outside. Just sitting in the sun with my dog, Tedi. I kind of like that.

Olivia:
I’ve gotten used to singing out loud while working.

Favorite nature moment in quarantine?

Kevin:
While taking the same solo hiking trail I’ve walked for the past nine years, I decided to turn right instead of my usual left at a certain fork in the trail, which led to the discovery of this new and refreshing view:

Becky:
Feeding park squirrels by hand. I’m sure there’s some reason I’m not supposed to be doing this, but it is truly entertaining, so please let me have it.

Have your pets been acting differently?

Kevin:
Our dog is SO well-behaved on walks now! He used to pull us down the street, but now not only does he walk at our pace, he basically puts his harness and leash on himself.

Becky:
My dog comes to the office with me normally, so she’s REALLY been slacking on her work since I’ve been working from home.
